The Grinnell College men’s swimming and diving team finished its final meet at Obermiller Pool in perfect fashion – by winning its own invitational.
The Pioneers claimed the Grinnell College Invitational team title for the first time since 2005 on Saturday night by out-distancing runner-up Luther College 649-619. It was the final collegiate meet in the Pioneers’ pool, as next season they will move to the new natatorium, which is part of the second phase of the College's Athletic and Fitness Center project.
Grinnell had two men’s champs on Saturday, Thomas Lankiewicz ’12 (pictured) in the 400-yard individual medley (4 minutes, 29.38 seconds) and Nick Smith ’10 in one-meter diving (399.35).
