Juan Carlos Perez '11 of Grinnell College advanced to the round of 16 before being eliminated at the ITA Midwest Regional Tennis Tournament over the weekend.
Perez posted victories over Tom Koenen of Wartburg and Peter Wright of Gustavus Adolphus before falling to Will Vandenberg of Kenyon. Two other Pioneers, Daniel Nellis '13 and Dmitriy Glumov '12, each won one singles match.
In doubles play, two Grinnell teams collected a win - the tandems of Ishan Bhadkamkar '13- Martin Dluhos '12 and Ben Flebbe '11-Glumov.
