The Grinnell College men’s tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback at Wheaton College on Friday.

The Pioneers’ wins all came in singles play. Eric Ritter ’12 won 6-4, 7-6 at the No. 2 spot, Daniel Nellis ’13 won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 and Conor Cunningham ’15 posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 6.

Grinnell, 14-5 on the season, opens Midwest Conference South Division play Saturday against Illinois College and Lake Forest College.

Grinnell College’s Eric Ritter ’12 has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Performer of the Week.

Ritter, from West Hartford, Conn. (William Hall), won four of five matches at No. 2 singles during the Pioneers’ spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. Included in that string was a win over a player from Carthage who had been ranked regionally at one time.

For the season, Ritter is 7-4 and Grinnell as a team owns a 14-4...

The Grinnell College men’s tennis team finished its spring break trip to Orlando, Fla., with a 7-2 setbackagainst Pacific University on Friday.

Grinnell got wins at No. 1 doubles from Elliott Czarnecki ’15 and Michael Cole ’12, and at No. 6 singles from Conor Cunningham ’15.

Pacific, ranked 13th in the West Region of NCAA Division III, improved to 8-3 while Grinnell fell to 14-4. The Pioneers are 15th in the Central Region....

The Grinnell College men, already playing strong tennis during their spring break trip to Florida, continued that trend Wednesday.

Grinnell, ranked 15th in the Central Region of NCAA Division III, beat 11th-ranked Carthage College 6-3 in Orlando, Fla.

Grinnell’s biggest match victory was at No. 1 singles, as Elliott Czarnecki ’15 toppled the region’s 14th-ranked player, Jeff Lotz, by a 6-4, 6-3 score. Czarnecki was unranked...

The Grinnell College men’s tennis team stretched its winning streak to eight matches, including a five-win string during its trip to Orlando, Fla., with a pair of victories Tuesday.

The Pioneers defeated both Augustana College of South Dakota and Hope College by 6-3 scores to move to 13-3 on the season.
