Attended Roosevelt High School, where he lettered four times in tennis. Was a three-time state place winner, taking eighth in singles in 2004, sixth in singles in 2005 and third in doubles in 2006. Also helped his team to fourth in the state team event in 2006. Aside from athletics was an AP Scholar.
