DES MOINES – The Grinnell College men’s track and field team came up with some strong efforts at the Jim Duncan Invitational Saturday at Drake Stadium.

Gavin Warnock ’14 was eighth in the long jump with a leap of 20-3 ½, Jake Lindstrom ’14 was ninth in the pole vault at 13-7 ¼ and Eric Ragan ’12 took 10th in the 400-meter hurdles in 58.12.

MOUNT VERNON – Gus Fulgoni ’12 won the high jump and leaped onto Grinnell’s all-time leader board in that event at Saturday’s Cornell College Invitational.

Fulgoni leaped 6-3/4 inches to win the event. That height ranks sixth all-time for the Pioneers.

Zack Angel ’15 was third in the 800-meter run in 2:02.32, while the Pioneers placed fourth in the 4x400 relay in 3:36.04.

DES MOINES – Frank Canady '14 ran his way onto Grinnell College's all-time leader board in the 10,000-meter run at the Jim Duncan Invitational Friday at Drake Stadium.

 

Canady finished second in the event with a clocking of 32:37.34, which ranks ninth in Pioneer history. He was just 11 seconds behind the champion in the 12-runner race.

The Grinnell College men’s track and field team had plenty of strong performances at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic over the weekend in Florida.

Gavin Warnock ’14 (pictured) had the top finish, placing third in the long jump with a leap of 21-1/2.

After losing its two-year stranglehold on the NCAA Division III National Indoor Track and Field crown last season, the Wartburg women reclaimed the coveted trophy in 2012.
