Kyle Moorehead ’15 (pictured) led Grinnell College men with a third-place finish in the 1000-meter during the Dutch Athletics Classic indoor track and field meet Friday in Pella.
He finished in a time of 2:41.28, just .18 behind the champion.
Eric Ragan ’12 and David Garwood ’13 added high finishes in the 300, placing fourth and fifth in 40.08 and 40.99, respectively.
The Pioneers had two seventh-place finishers in Evan Griffith ’15, who did so in the 3000 with a time of 9:24.77, and Kevin Pflaum ’13, who went 36-3/4 in the weight throw.
Placing eighth were Gavin Warnock ’14 in the long jump (18-10) and Sam Offenberg ’14 in the shot put (36-9).
Grinnell was fifth in the team standings with 19 points. Nationally-ranked host Central College won the meet with 258.
The Pioneers compete in Cornell College’s Hilltop Open next Saturday.
