The Grinnell College men’s track and field team had plenty of strong performances at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic over the weekend in Florida.

Gavin Warnock ’14 (pictured) had the top finish, placing third in the long jump with a leap of 21-1/2.

Taking fourth were Ian McCallum-Cook ’12 in the 1500-meter run (4:10.77), Jake Lindstrom ’14 in the pole vault (13-11 ¼) and the 4x400 relay team of Ronald Edwards ’14, Isaiah Tyree ’15, Harpreet Singh 12 and David Garwood ’13 (3:44.57).

Andy Hirakawa ’12 was fifth in the 110 hurdles (16.47) and Zev Braun ’15 took fifth in the javelin (144-8). The 4x100 relay team of Warnock, Singh, Garwood and Edwards was sixth (45.66).

Grinnell got seventh- and ninth-place finishes in the 800, respectively, from McCallum-Cook (2:03.36) and Zach Angel ’15 (2:04.53).

Grinnell will send athletes to the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines on April 13-14 and the Cornell College Invitational on April 14.
