Grinnell College’s Kyle Moorehead ’15 jumped onto the Pioneers’ all-time list in the men’s 800-meter run Saturday at the Iowa State University Qualifier last chance indoor meet in Ames.
Moorehead finished second in his heat with a time of 1:57.63, sixth-best in Grinnell history.
On the women’s side, Sarah Burnell ’14 and Eloise Miller ’15 continued their trend of breaking school records.
Burnell shattered her own school mark in the 800-meter run, which she set earlier this year, when she won her heat in 2:15.51. Her previous best was 2:16.52.
In the meantime, Miller broke her previous mark of 36-10 ½ in the triple jump by bounding 37-1 ¼. That placed her second in the event.
The 4x400 relay team of Christine Ajinjeru ’14, Miller, Burnell and Isabelle Miller ’13 ran 4:03.72. They finished eighth in the event.
