The Grinnell College track and field team will compete at the 2011 Midwest Conference Championships Friday and Saturday in Monmouth, Ill.
Alex Reich ’11 is ranked first in the league in both the men’s 5000- and 10,000-meter runs, while Isabelle Miller ’13 is tops in the women’s 400 hurdles.
Shyam Deshpande ’11 is ranked in the top five in three events, as he’s second in the men’s 5000, third in the 3000 steeplechase and fifth in the 1500.
Erik Figge ’13 and Ben Tyler ’14 are third and fifth, respectively, in the 5000 and Figge is also fourth in the 10,000. Eric Ragan ’12 is fifth in the 400 hurdles and Marquis Bradley ’11 fifth in the javelin.
On the women’s side, Sarah Burnell ’14 is ranked second in the 800 and third in the 1500. She is also part of the third-ranked 4x400 relay team.
Stephanie Rouse ’13 is third in the 5000 and fourth in the 3000 steeplechase, while Maja Gamble ’11 is fourth in the 10,000.
Ranked fifth are Miller in the 400, Sachi Graber ’12 in the pole vault and Megan Huey ’12 in the shot put.
