Pioneers Sweep Through Day One of MWC Classic

The Grinnell College softball team improved to 3-0 in conference play this season with a trio of victories on Sunday during Day One action of the Midwest Conference Softball Classic. It was the first action for the team since hosting its annual Hy-Vee Tournament back on March 30-31.The Pioneers edged Beloit 6-5 in the opener before picking up another one-run victory (2-1) over Lawrence in game two. The team wrapped up the day with a 6-2 win over Carroll and improved to 5-7 overall (3-0 MWC).

Grinnell closes out the Classic on Monday with an 11:00 a.m. contest versus Ripon and a 1 :00 p.m. match-up versus St. Norbert.
