Coe College, the Iowa Conference’s top volleyball team, defeated Grinnell College in three sets Friday night at Cedar Rapids.

The Kohawks won by scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-10. Grinnell fell to 9-16.

Grinnell's season will continue this coming weekend, though, as the Pioneers qualified for the Midwest Conference Championships for the second time in three years. Grinnell, with a 6-3 league mark, will be the fourth seed and play-top seeded host St. Norbert College on Friday, Nov. 4.

Olivia Wilks ’12 (pictured) had 14 assists for Grinnell to go along with five digs. Claire Weidman ’15 and Michelle Briggs ’13 added five kills each, while Weidman also had six digs as did Kate Duran ’12. Gillian Dryjanski ’12 also had five digs, while Cheyenne Hickox ’15 and Weidman had two blocks each.
