The Grinnell College volleyball team came up with a key Midwest Conference victory Saturday afternoon, defeating Carroll University in a five-set thriller at Darby Gymnasium.

Grinnell, which won by scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-20, 23-25 and 15-9, is now 4-2 in the league and 6-13 in all matches. Carroll dipped to 2-3 in the MWC and 9-12 overall.

The Grinnell College volleyball team returned to its winning ways Friday night, stopping Ripon College in four sets at Darby Gymnasium.

Scores, in favor of Grinnell, were 20-25, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-16 as the Pioneers snapped a three-match losing streak.

Grinnell moved to 3-2 in the Midwest Conference with the win and 5-13 in all matches, while the Red Hawks fell to 0-3 in league play and 4-18 overall.

St. Norbert College swept Grinnell College in three sets during Midwest Conference volleyball action Saturday afternoon at De Pere, Wis.

The Green Knights, who improved to 2-0 in the MWC and 14-4 overall, won by scores of 25-10, 25-21 and 25-11. Grinnell is now 2-2 in the league and 4-13 in all matches.

The Grinnell College volleyball team won the opening set Friday night, but Lawrence University rallied to take the next three for a Midwest Conference victory in Midwest Conference play.

The Vikings, who improved to 2-0 in the league and 9-9 in all matches, won by scores of 24-26, 27-25, 25-11 and 25-23. Grinnell dipped to 4-12 overall and 2-1 in the MWC.

The William Penn University volleyball team posted a four-set non-conference victory over the Grinnell College Pioneers Saturday at Darby Gymnasium.

Set scores, in favor of the Statesmen, were 25-16, 25-12, 6-25 and 25-21. William Penn is now 10-10, while Grinnell moved to 4-11.
