Attended Roseville Area High School where she lettered in basketball, volleyball, and track & field.  Karen was a varsity basketball team captain her senior year and led her team to a fourth place finish in the state basketball tournament.  She holds the school record for most three pointers in a single season (47) and was named Academic All-State in basketball, track, and volleyball.  Aside from athletics she was a four year member of the A Honor Roll and received the Academic Gold Award.
