Pionners Win Meet at Knox
The Grinnell College women's cross country team continues its preparation for another conference championship as it competed in a low-keyed dual race against Knox College on Saturday. The Pioneers won the meet as they captured the top six individual finishes.
Sarah Spencer '08 led the way for Grinnell by winning the 5K race in a time of 18:55, with Sara Brady '07 right behind in a time of 18:57. Erin Sindewald '08 took third in a time of 19:39, while Katie Ryan '07 (19:48) and Becky Bessinger '09 (19:49) finished fourth and fifth. Erin Booth '07 rounds out the top six place-winners by finishing in a time of 20:35.
Elizabeth Jach '09 (21:01) and Colette Boilini '08 (21:20) took eighth and ninth respectively. Hannah Neubauer '10 (22:01) brought home an 11th-place finish, while Jaimie Adleson '08 (22:40) and Ellen Zaander '09 (22:53) took 14th and 15th.
Liza Brost '10 (23:50), Jill Kaspar '09 (23:51), Erin Lynch-Klarup '07 (23:51) took 19th, 20th, and 21st respectively to round out the finishes for the Pioneers.
The team is back in action as they look to make it three straight conference championships on October 28th, when it takes part in the meet hosted by Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis.
