Women Runners Impressive As They Capture Pre-Regional Crown

The Grinnell College women's cross country team kept its dominance going on Saturday by winning the Pre-Regional meet, hosted by St. Olaf, with 24 points. St. Olaf finished a distant second with 64 points.
Running on the challenging St. Olaf course, Sarah Spencer '08 (left) once again led the way for the Pioneers by taking the 6k individual crown in a time of 22:36. Sarah Brady '07, with a time of 23:15, and Allison Louthan '08, with in a time of 23:25, made it a 1-2-3 finish for the Pioneers.
Katie Ryan '07 (24:02) took seventh-place while Meredith Groves '08 (24:12) finished in 11th. Becky Bessinger '09 (24:17) and Erin Sindewald '08 (24:31) round out the top finishers for the Pioneers. Running on the course that will host the NCAA Central Regional on November 11th, the Pioneers made it clear that they are developing into one of the elite teams in Division III cross country.
