Staying Well at Grinnell Participation Policy
Regular and Term Employees
Regular and term employees are invited to participate in all on campus "Staying Well" programs. Occasionally a fee will be required and/or the number of participants will be limited.
Off Campus Wellness Fee Reimbursement
Staying Well will pay 50% of the fees for approved off campus Staying Well programs up to $150 per fiscal year for all regular and term employees. These figures are subject to budget constraints. Contact the wellness director to gain approval for all new programs.
Approved Programs
Paul W. Ahrens Fitness & Rehabilitation Center, Grinnell Regional Medical Center Weight Watchers Curves for Women A New Weigh, Grinnell Regional Medical Center Brayton's Black Belt Academy Weigh Down Fly High, Grinnell Regional Medical Center Personal training (with approval of Wellness Director)
Wellness Release Time
Regular, full time employees will be paid up to 1 hour/week for time taken off to participate in administrative approved Staying Well programs during working hours. (Individual employees must obtain approval from supervising administrator).
Temporary Employees
Temporary employees are welcome to participate in on campus Staying Well programs. Some programs may require a fee and/or limit the number of participants.
Retirees and Emeritii
Retirees and Emeriti are welcome to participate in on campus Staying Well programs. Some programs may require a fee and/or limit the number of participants.
Spouses and Domestic Partners
Spouses and domestic partners of all employees, retirees, and emeriti are welcome to take part in on campus Staying Well programs. Some programs may require a fee and/or limit the number of participants.
Union Workers
Union college employees will adhere to union contract terms.
Definitions of Terms
Regular: not term or temporary Term: position of limited duration, typically one academic year Temporary: position of limited duration, typically less than one academic year
