Alex Plemmons ’15 (pictured) had a two-day score of 163 to lead the Grinnell College women’s golf team at the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Invitational at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill., over the weekend.

Plemmons had rounds of 83 and 80 and tied for 28th in the 133-golfer field.

Next in line for Grinnell was Stephanie Spahr ’14, who had an 81-83-164 to tie for 41st. Mallory Messin ’13 added an 87-89-176 to tie for 79th, Natalie Klee ’13 shot 88-89-177 to tie for 83rd and Elizabeth Burnett ’13 had an 85-98-183 to tie for 103rd.

Grinnell had team rounds of 336 on Saturday and 341 on Sunday for an overall score of 677, good for 14th place.

The team champ was Washington University of St. Louis, which shot a 617 to beat DePauw by four shots. Hannah Buck of Washington won the individual crown with a 4-over-par 148, beating two other golfers by two strokes.

Grinnell will compete in the Central College Invitational this coming weekend.
