Despite outshooting Illinois College 19-9, and getting 15 of those shots on goal, the Grinnell College women’s soccer team had to settle for a 0-0, double-overtime tie with the hosts in Midwest Conference action Saturday at Jacksonville, Ill.
The Pioneers are now 4-0-1 in the league and 7-3-2 overall, while Illinois College moved to 0-2-2 in the MWC and 4-6-3 overall.
Abby Jaeger ’14 managed four shots for Grinnell, Patty Murphy-Geiss ’14, Julia Sauerhaft ’15 and Kirsten Louthan ’12 had three apiece and Rachel Weinstein ‘13 and Rachael Koester ’13 tallied two each.
Grinnell keeper Jordan Young ’14 recorded five saves in the game.
The Pioneers step out of MWC play on Monday to play at Principia College.
