Grinnell College defender Nicole Sipfle ’13 (upper left) has been named to the 2011 All-Midwest Conference Women’s Soccer first team after being an honorable mention selection a year ago.

Three other Pioneers were also named All-Conference after guiding Grinnell to a share of the league title, its first crown since 2006, and qualifying for the MWC postseason tournament for the first time since 2008. Those players are second-teamers...

The Grinnell College women’s soccer team lost a 1-0 decision to Carroll University Friday in the opening round of the Midwest Conference Championships at De Pere, Wis.

The lone goal of the game came in the 42nd minute by Sam Gavin.

Grinnell had four shots on the day, with two coming from Rachel Weinstein ’13 and one each from Eden Marek ’15 and Rachael Koester ’13.

The Grinnell College women’s soccer team claimed its 10th Midwest Conference title, and its first since 2006, with a 5-0 shutout of Knox College Sunday at Springer Field.

The Pioneers finish league play with a 7-1-1 mark and are tri-champs along with St. Norbert College and Carroll University.

Grinnell, 10-5-2 overall, had already qualified for the MWC Tournament for the first time since 2008 and will open action at 11 a.m....

With yet another dominating performance, the Grinnell College women’s soccer team moved closer to a share of the Midwest Conference title Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Ripon College at Springer Field.

The Pioneers, who had 21 players see action during the contest, moved to 6-1-1 in the league and 9-5-2 overall. Ripon dipped to 4-4-1 in the MWC and 7-10-1 in all games.

Grinnell College’s women’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Carroll University in a battle of Midwest Conference co-leaders Sunday in Waukesha, Wis.

Despite the setback, Grinnell has qualifies for the MWC Tournament for the first time since the 2008 season.

Carroll led 2-0 at halftime, with Kelly Moran scoring six minutes into the contest and Kayla Pfeiffer adding a goal in the 44th minute.

The Grinnell College women’s soccer team remained tied atop the Midwest Conference standings Saturday with a 5-0 blanking of Beloit College at Beloit, Wis.

Rachael Koester ’13 (pictured) scored her first two goals of the season for Grinnell, which improved to 5-0-1 in the MWC and 8-4-2 overall. Beloit dipped to 0-6-1 in the conference and 4-10-1 in all games.

A quick start sent Principia College to a 3-0 victory over the Grinnell College women’s soccer team Monday in Elsah, Ill.

The hosts got goals from Kelly DeWindt in the second and seventh minutes for a 2-0 lead, and then Alicia Girbes-Pierce scored in the 55th minute on a penalty kick to complete the scoring.

Despite outshooting Illinois College 19-9, and getting 15 of those shots on goal, the Grinnell College women’s soccer team had to settle for a 0-0, double-overtime tie with the hosts in Midwest Conference action Saturday at Jacksonville, Ill.

The Pioneers are now 4-0-1 in the league and 7-3-2 overall, while Illinois College moved to 0-2-2 in the MWC and 4-6-3 overall.

The Grinnell College women’s soccer team erupted for its highest goal total of the season Saturday, sailing past Lake Forest College 5-1 on a windy Springer Field.

The victory keeps Grinnell in command of the Midwest Conference with a perfect 4-0 league mark. It was the fifth win in a row for the Pioneers, who are 7-3-1 overall. Lake Forest is 2-2 in the league and 6-6 in all games.
