Four members of the Grinnell College women’s swimming and diving team took home titles from the Pioneer Invitational Saturday in Cedar Rapids.
The meet had been slated to be in Grinnell, but was moved when the pool here was closed due to duct work repair.
Beth Gillig ’15 won two crowns for Grinnell, taking first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.96) and 1000 freestyle (11:21.30)

One day after breaking the 100-yard backstroke school record, Grinnell College’s Nikki Pyle ’14 has another Pioneer mark to her credit.
Pyle swam the 200 backstroke in 2:12.37 Sunday at the 2012 Midwest Conference Championships in Appleton, Wis., to break the Grinnell mark of 2:12.56 set by Julia McHugh in 2007. Pyle finished second in the event.

Morgan Bober ’12 (pictured) set a new Midwest Conference Championships record in the 100-yard butterfly to lead the Grinnell College women’s swimming and diving team at the 2012 league meet Saturday in Appleton, Wis.
Bober won the race in 59.19, breaking the old mark of 59.36 set by Lauren Tracy of Carroll in 2006.

A trio of runner-up finishes led the Grinnell College women’s swimming and diving team to second place after the opening day of the 2012 Midwest Conference Championships Friday at Appleton, Wis.

Grinnell College’s Kelly Bruce ’12 has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
Bruce, from Middleton, Wis. (Middleton), set a school record in one-meter diving and broke two pool records as the Pioneers won a 169-116 dual meet at Coe College Saturday. Bruce had a score of 277.50 while winning the one-meter event, breaking the previous program best of 275.60 set by Jo Schaalman in 1998.

Kelly Bruce ’12 (pictured) broke a school record as the Grinnell College women’s swimming and diving team rolled past Coe College 169-119 Saturday in Cedar Rapids.
Bruce won the one-meter diving event with a score of 277.50, breaking the previous Pioneer best of 275.60 set by Jo Schaalman in 1998.
Bruce also won three-meter diving with a score of 287.02. She set pool records in both events, as well.

Grinnell College’s Beth Gillig ’15 has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.

A pair of high finishes helped push the Grinnell College women’s swimming and diving team to a fourth-place finish at its own invitational Saturday at Russell K. Osgood Pool.
