A pair of high finishes helped push the Grinnell College women’s swimming and diving team to a fourth-place finish at its own invitational Saturday at Russell K. Osgood Pool.
Kelly Bruce ’12 earned an NCAA Division III National provisional mark for the second time in two days, doing so in three-meter diving with a score of 421.35. She placed second with that effort.
Danielle Phillips ’15 added a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.44).
Phillips was also fifth in the 400 individual medley (4:57.12), the same place Morgan Bober ’12 got in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.98).
Placing sixth was the 200 medley relay team of Beth Gillig ’15, Phillips, Bober and Grace Gallagher ’14 (1:55.80).
Placing eighth were Gillig in the 200 freestyle (2:03.35) and Emma Falley ’15 in three-meter diving (336.05).
Grinnell finished the meet with 538 points to tie with St. Catherine University. The champ in the 11-team event was Gustavus Adolphus College with 1247.5.
Grinnell will compete in the Macalester Mini-Invitational next Saturday.
