The Grinnell College women’s tennis team will play for its seventh Midwest Conference title in the last eight years Friday afternoon after blanking Lawrence University 5-0 in a morning semifinal at Rockford, Ill.

The Grinnell College women’s tennis team will seek its seventh Midwest Conference title in the past eight seasons when the Pioneers open the league meet Friday morning.

The Grinnell College women’s team won its ninth Midwest Conference South Division title in a row Saturday with a 9-0 blanking of Monmouth College.

The Pioneers extended their winning streak in divisional play to 37 matches, dating back to 2002.

Grinnell, 3-0 in the division, also beat Grand View University 9-0 Saturday to improve to 11-0 on the season.

Grinnell College’s Constanza Alarcon ’13 (Guatemala City, Guatemala/American School Guatemala) has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Tennis Performer of the Week.

The Grinnell College women’s tennis team kept up its winning ways Sunday, downing Carroll University 7-2 in Waukesha, Wis.

Double winners for Grinnell were Constanza Alarcon ’13, Hanna Feldman ’14 (pictured) and Shirlene Luk ’15. They teamed up to win at No. 2 doubles, while Alarcon also won at No. 2 singles and Feldman at the No. 4 spot. Luk won at No. 3 singles and at No. 3 doubles with Tatyana Sukharnikova ’12.
