DES MOINES – Grinnell College women broke a pair of school records at the Jim Duncan Invitational track and field meet Saturday at Drake Stadium.

Eloise Miller ’15 shattered the school mark in the triple jump with a runner-up leap of 36-2. That topped the previous Pioneer best of 34-4 ¾ set by Skye Langs in 2003.

Also getting a new school mark was Jordan Young ’14 in the hammer throw. She had an effort of 130-0 to finish sixth...

MOUNT VERNON – The 4x800-meter relay team placed fourth to lead the way for the Grinnell College women’s track and field team at Saturday’s Cornell College Invitational.

The squad ran the race in 11:11.40.

The highest individual finishes came from Catherine Bisignano ’12 in the 1500-meter run and Jacqui Vautin ’13 in the 5000. Both were ninth in times of 5:20.33 and 20:25.96, respectively.

DES MOINES - Eloise Miller '15 leaped onto Grinnell College's all-time leader board in the long jump during the Jim Duncan Invitational Friday at Drake Stadium.

 

Miller placed seventh in the event with a jump of 16-1/2, which ties for fifth-best in Pioneer history.

A new school record and several top-10 program performances paced the Grinnell College women’s track and field team at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic over the weekend in Florida.

Jordan Young ’14 (pictured) shattered the school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 125-11. That beat the previous Pioneer best of 118-0, set by Caitlin Shannon in 2006.
