Attended Unity High School, where she lettered four years in track and field and twice in volleyball … holds school records in the 100-meter dash (12.67 seconds) and as part of the 4x100 relay, was conference and sectional champ in the 100 and a state qualifier in that event, as well as the 4x200 relay and 4x100 relay three times … was a state finalist in the 4x100 … was varsity team captain, 2009 Most Improved Athlete and 2010 Most Dedicated Athlete … aside from athletics won the DAR Good Citizen and Phi Beta Kappa Young Scholar Awards, was a four-year Honor Roll member, Junior Class Marshall, UHS Student Council Member of the Year, won UHS Award of Excellence in Biological Sciences, Presidential Education Award, Illinois State School, Illinois Science Olympiad State champion – Disease Detectives, Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering State finalist in biology and Okaw Valley Scholastic Bowl All-Conference Team.
