Freeman Competes in Three Field Events at Northwest Missouri State

Due to the cancellation of a pair of previously scheduled meets, the Grinnell College women's track and field team took a lone individual to the NW Collegiate Open this past Saturday.

Sarah Freeman '09 competed for the Pioneers in the hammer throw, shot put, and discus, and finished strong in each event. Her throw of just under 86' was good enough for a 14th place finish in the hammer throw. She then captured a 15th place finish in the shot put with a heave of just over 24'. She rounded out her competition with a 14th place finish in the discus.

Freeman and the rest of the Pioneers are scheduled to return to action on April 21st, when they host the annual Dick Young Classic, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
