The class agent (CA) plays a leading role in promoting and sustaining class connections through classletters, class listserv activity, and other forms of outreach. As a member of the class committee, the CA also attends Volunteer Weekend and takes a prominent role in planning special reunion activities for his or her class.

• Classletters
  The classletter program offers classmates the opportunity to share news with each other through regular letters. The class agent is responsible for gathering, editing, and distributing news by, for, and about classmates through the classletters. Class agents must prepare at least two classletters each year.

• Information changes
  The CA is one of the best sources the College has for updating alumni records (marriages, births, deaths, advanced degrees, careers, awards, etc). Therefore, it is very important to be accurate and timely with the information received and transmitted in the classletter. The source and date of an alumni death must be verified before it can be announced in the Grinnell Magazine.
  
  
• Addresses
  The CA is asked to send new addresses for classmates as they are received.
• It is helpful if the CA includes the approximate date of the new address. The date need not be included in the body of the classletter, but it is helpful for record-keeping.
• When classletters are returned because they are undeliverable, the CA should send the front of the envelope with this post office indication to the Office of College and Alumni Relations.
