Beth Halloran, Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations

Welcome!

Higher education is facing many challenges, ranging from intensified competition for philanthropic support to declining federal and state aid to educating students who may have been inadequately prepared for college success by their K-12 schools—a failure particularly felt by families of color and those with scarce resources.

Grinnell College is taking a hard look at the future, developing a plan that will enable us to continue providing the best education to highly talented students from diverse backgrounds. The College's Board of Trustees has identified five specific areas on which we need to focus these efforts.

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is especially focused on one of those five areas: alumni engagement. We are fortunate to work with you and an incredible body of fellow alumni all over the world, who are deeply connected to the College. However, we know that we are not yet doing the best possible job of connecting you to the College, current students and faculty, or each other.

I look forward to sharing news with you as we work to design and implement a series of improvements. I hope that you will continue to generously support us with your ideas and suggestions. Please feel free to share your advice and feedback with me at DAR@grinnell.edu

On behalf of the Development and Alumni Relations staff and the College as a whole, thank you for all you’ve done for Grinnell and for all you may do in the future.
