Interacting With Alumni
Coming from Long Beach, CA Jenny Mith ’14 might seem a quiet at first, but as with all of our students here at Grinnell she is full of big ambitions. I have had the pleasure of working with Jenny not only as part of the Phonathon program but also as a member of Student Philanthropy, the group on campus dedicated to educating students about the Pioneer Fund.
Jenny is not declared yet, but is interested in pursuing economics at Grinnell. Even as a first year she has big plans to find an internship for the summer and hopes to study abroad in England with a program at the London School of Economics. While not every student at Grinnell studies abroad (I was not able to), many do, and find that these experiences are often one of the defining moments of their time at Grinnell College. Jenny truly enjoys talking with alumni and is always eager to meet those who have the chance to make it back to campus.
