Geothermal energy is utilized at the Conard Environmental Research Area (CERA) for heating and cooling the main facility. Geothermal energy emits 85% fewer carbon emssions than natural gas heating systems and 90% fewer emissions than oil and coal systems. For more information and an up-to-date interactive exhibit on CERA's geothermal system, visit CERA's website.
