All good things...
After nearly seven years of pleasing (and often surprising) campus residents and visitors, Patrick Dougherty's Hat Trick was removed in January 2010 after one of its mulberry supports had snapped. Although Dougherty's willow sculptures are intended to be temporary and typically last only three or four years, Hat Trick's relative shelter in the Holden Sculpture Courtyard of the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts allowed it to stand far longer than originally expected. Alas, all good things must come to an end.
