William Pergl: Sculpture

In William Pergl's sculptures one sees the value of craft through skillful process. Although his favorite medium is wood, Pergl has also worked with metals, plastic and rubber. His sculptures are often large in scale and rest directly on the floor, existing in the viewer's space without mediation by a pedestal. He has been an assistant professor of art in sculpture and drawing at Grinnell College since 2000.
