This catalog documents the eleventh in a series of exhibitions organized by student curators from the Grinnell College Department of Art’s triennial Exhibition Seminar. Using the theme of repetition in art as their springboard, the student curators selected works from the Grinnell College Art Collection that approach repetition from diverse and refreshing perspectives. In their catalog essays, they examine the ways in which art contributes to the construction of identities and the role that repetition plays in this process. The Fall 2009 seminar included: Thomas Bateman ’10, Madeleine Cargas ’10, Caitlin Deutsch ’12, Nora Frazin ’10, Erika Graham ’10, Caitlin Hawley ’11, Rebecca Park ’10, Katherine Robbins ’10, Courtney Sheehan ’11, Maya Ruiz-Stanbary ’11, and Amanda Underwood ’10, under the direction of Associate Professor Jenny Anger
