Fadhil Obaid Assultani

Fadhil Obaid Assultani was born in Iraq in 1948. He graduated from the English Department, College of Arts, University of Baghdad. He left Iraq in 1977 and lives now in London where he works as Arts Editor for AL-Sharq-Al-Awsat Arabic newspaper. He translated into Arabic The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, short stories by William Trevor, selected poems by Miroslav Hullop and an anthology of English poetry from 1950-2000 to be published early in 2002.

His published collections of poetry include

Burnt by Water (Beirut, 2000).
