For more than 25 years, Robert Polidori, the noted architectural and editorial photographer, has been photographing the ongoing restoration of the Palace of Versailles. Once a magnificent seat of royal power, Versailles is now a public museum and global icon of (past) French glory, where curators and observers like Polidori mine the grand delusions of once and would-be kings, probing strata of meaning and motivation underlying one of the world’s great architectural statements.
This exhibition is presented in collaboration with Nicholas Metivier Gallery, Toronto.
