Hybrid Media: John F. Simon, Jr. & Matthew Kluber

Professor of Art Matthew Kluber mixes light and paint in his work. By projecting software-based animations onto meticulously painted aluminum panels, he asks viewers to fuse static and active images into a singular visual experience. John F. Simon, Jr.'s artworks reflect a similar hybridization of technology and traditional media. His large cabinets, lined with Formica and incorporating LCD screens, point to the way computers and screens have become our phones, maps, and calendars but also our art.
