September 30 - December 11, 2005
This intimate exhibition of approximately 30 works, organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, includes exceptional works by many of the great masters of 19th-century French painting--Bonnard, Degas, Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, and Vuillard, among others.
This exhibition reveals the distinctly personal character of a collection lovingly acquired for a private home. Janice Levin (1913–2001) was an Honorary Trustee of The Metropolitan Museum of Art from 1993 until her death. The national tour of this exhibition is organized by the American Federation of Arts. Packet for educators available upon request.
