Language Learning Center
Located in Alumni Recitation Hall, the Language Learning Center (CCL) is a space where students can study, relax between classes, and meet up with tutors or language assistants.
The LLC is open daily from 8 a.m. to midnight, with evening hours devoted to drop-in tutoring in Ancient Greek, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Spanish.
Why Language Now?
Grinnell provides the resources to help you learn a second language: dedicated faculty, small classes, language tables and labs, native-speaking assistants, language houses, off-campus study, and advanced research.
- It expands your world. A second language opens your mind to diverse cultures and perspectives and helps you become more aware of your own culture.
- It fosters academic success. It will give you skills critical to academic success: critical thinking, creativity, and a better command of English.
- It’s more essential than ever. Multiple language skills are increasingly sought after by employers.
- It’s fun and empowering! Talk with native speakers in another country or understand a poem, song, or film in another language. Follow world affairs in foreign media and participate in global conversations.
