The Web Guys and ITS offer various web-related training—using Drupal, creating web forms, creating accessible webpages and documents, etc.—throughout the semester.
To receive training:
- Request training in a particular area. We use requests to determine when to offer additional training on particular subjects. In addition, when you request training, we will contact you when the training you are interested in becomes available.
- Watch the Campus Memo and the Laurel Leaf for upcoming classes. (Not all classes will be advertised this way.)
We are also developing online training options, but these will take time, and not all subjects will be covered.
Introduction to Drupal and the Grinnell Website Training
Covers Drupal concepts and terminology, Grinnell website and internet standards, and how to correctly use Drupal.
You must complete this training to receive a Drupal user id.
Web guys offer classes a few times a semester. If we have enough requests, we can schedule an extra class.
We are working on an online training option.
The following powerpoints were used in the concepts and standards training at the conversion to Drupal. These are useful resources for learning about Drupal but are not a substitute for attending training sessions.
Learn how to create and maintain accessible webpages and electronic documents.
Jen Krohn and Linda Ludwig offer classes as needed.
The accessibility pages include more information about web page accessibility.
Web Form Training
Learn the different options for creating web forms at Grinnell (including secure forms handled outside of Grinnell), how to create Drupal forms, and how to view and clean records.
Web Guys offer as needed.
