The second Local Foods Thanksgiving Meal will give campus and community members the chance to tuck into an early Thanksgiving meal while also supporting local agriculture. The meal will take place on Sun., Nov. 22 from noon to 2 p.m.

The meal will feature food from local farmers and food providers, including the Paul family and Grinnell Heritage Farm. All students, faculty, staff, and community members are encouraged to attend, and people are welcome to bring their own dish to share. Attendees should bring their own plates, cups, and utensils in order to reduce waste.

Tickets are required and attendance will be capped at 200. Tickets are available until Nov. 21 outside the Marketplace and at Saint’s Rest coffee shop in downtown Grinnell for $3, and for free at the Community Meal. Volunteer cooks are needed and will receive free admission to the meal. Please contact localfoods@grinnell.edu for more information.

The Local Foods Thanksgiving Meal is co-sponsored by the Local Foods Co-Op, Chalutzim, Eco House, Food House, and the Peer Sexual Counseling group.
