We’re making some improvements to the northwest quadrant of the first floor as part of Burling's ongoing renewal.
The area between the windows and the current journal shelves has been enlarged to give more space for the readings, lectures, performances, and other events we hold here. Look for our schedule for Wednesday Nights @ Burling this fall.
And we’re building two Consultation Stations in the space between Current Journals and the book stacks (the blue tape marks their footprints). These stations will be available during the day by reservation to faculty and academic professionals who want to meet with students or each other, and during evenings and weekends for student group study. This is one of the four experimental projects linked to the campus plan update (http://www.grinnell.edu/offices/institutionalplanning/updatedescription). Look for more information coming soon.
