Campus Construction Update: June 5-12

Sidewalks will soon be affected around Younkers and closed between Carnegie and Herrick Chapel.

Major activity week of June 5 through the week of June 12

  • Excavation of north pavilion
  • Excavation of foundation footings
  • Waterproofing
  • Backfill of foundation walls
  • Deliveries of rebar and concrete
  • Quality control inspections prior to placing concrete
  • Under slab plumbing/electrical, south pavilion
  • Slab on grade pours, south pavilion
  • Construct elevator shafts at south pavilion
  • Excavate bore pit on south side of Younkers (sidewalks affected)
  • Bore sleeve from south side of Younkers to HSSC
  • Clean and grade geo field/excavate for circuit tie-ins
  • Revise fence route at sundial
  • Close sidewalk between Carnegie and Herrick Chapel

Installations occurring during this time period

  • Geothermal wells
  • Mud mats for footings
  • Foundation footings
  • Foundation walls
  • 6’ tall metal fence at well field/west ARH transformer (closes diagonal sidewalk by transformer)
  • Secondary feeders off ARH transformer
