Thinking otherwise about the prairie (logo)

You believe in considering life from different perspectives. And at Grinnell, you have 360 degrees of perspective as you make your college home on the historic, subtly beautiful American prairie.

Grinnell doesn’t boast the ready-made attractions of a big city. Here, we invent our community and ourselves, setting ourselves a little farther apart so we can work together on what matters most to us. From the prairie, we travel the world, then return to share, reflect upon, and grow from our experiences.

But we also deeply respect the prairie for its own sake. From the Center for Prairie Studies to the Conard Environmental Research Area to the native plant gardens all across campus, Grinnellians look closely at the ecologies, histories, and possibilities that others tend to overlook.
