This year, members of the Mathematics and Statistics department have received two National Science Foundation grants and two competitive leave awards from the college. Professor Kuiper received a second consecutive NSF grant for developing undergraduate statistics programs. Professor Blanchard was awarded an NSF grant for his research on comparability of algorithms in compressed sensing. Professor French was awarded an Academic Enterprise Leave funded by the Mellon Expanding Knowledge Initiative.
