Scholars' Convocation: Noon on Wednesday, Sept. 5, in Herrick Chapel
Grinnell College will announce the winners of the 2012 Grinnell Prize at this week's Scholars' Convocation. The prize honors individuals under the age of 40 who have demonstrated leadership in their fields and show creativity, commitment, and extraordinary accomplishment in effecting positive social change.
At the second annual Grinnell Prize awards ceremony and symposium in November, these winners will visit campus to share their experiences and perspectives through public lectures and meetings with students. Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and president of Ben and Jerry's Foundation, will deliver the keynote address.
After the announcement, visit the Grinnell Prize site, follow @GrinnellCollege on Twitter, or like Grinnell Prize on Facebook to learn about the remarkable accomplishments of these young entrepreneurs and the organizations they founded.
The call for nominations for the 2013 Grinnell Prize opens Sept. 5 and closes Nov. 5.
