2012 Alumni Award Winner
Few people have supported the College with more passion and thoughtfulness than Linda Miller Staubitz ’62.
A Spanish major, she was also a member of the choir, women’s government, Madrigals, and Women’s Glee Club. She was president of Spanish House.
She reared three children and worked as a Spanish teacher, freelance writer, and editor. She has also been a committed volunteer for Grinnell. She currently volunteers as a class agent and a class committee member. She has also hosted numerous Grinnell events in her home. In the past, she has been a member of the Alumni Council and has served as an admissions representative, Asa Turner Associate, regional coordinator, and sesquicentennial volunteer.
She has also supported the College in a variety of other tangible ways. In 1999, she and her husband established the Linda Miller Staubitz and Arthur F. Staubitz Scholarship, which is now the Class of 1962 Endowed Scholarship Fund. She also underwrote the Staubitz Practice Room in the Bucksbaum Center.
Her volunteer work extends past Grinnell and into her community. She is a trustee for the Arizona Opera and a founding member of the Friends of the Arizona State Museum Collections.
