Grinnell College Communication

Twenty years after the creation of the gender and women’s studies concentration, Grinnell is celebrating the history of the discipline at the College as well as its incorporation into a new interdisciplinary gender, women’s, and sexuality studies major. Approved by the faculty in 2009, the new major draws on courses from across the College’s three divisions to examine women, men, gender, sexuality, and feminist theory across time periods and cultures.

The Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies Department is sponsoring a variety of events on campus as part of the anniversary celebration. A conference on Apr. 9-10 will feature student and alumni panels as well as a showing of Suzi Yoonessi’s prep-school comedy Dear Lemon LimaMore information about the schedule of events is available on the Grinnell campus calendar.
