MWC Championships is last to be held at Obermilller Pool
The Grinnell College swimming and diving teams will be part of Grinnell history as they attempt to continue their league dominance when they host the Midwest Conference Championships Friday through Sunday, Feb. 13-15, at Obermiller Pool.
This year marks the final time Grinnell hosts the MWC Championships at Obermiller Pool. In 2011, Grinnell will host the meet at the natatorium, currently under construction, which is part of the second phase of the College's Athletic and Fitness Center project. In addition to the natatorium, Phase II includes a new fieldhouse, offices, racquetball courts, classrooms, training and equipment rooms, and additional locker rooms. To support the project with a charitable gift, contact Charles Powell, director of development, email@example.com.
The Pioneer women have won the past 10 MWC team titles, while the men have seven consecutive titles to their credit.
Preliminary action at the MWC Championships begins at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. on Sunday. Finals are slated for 5:30 p.m. the first two days and 4 p.m. the next.
Finals will be shown for free on Midwest Conference Television. For more information, go to midwestconference.tv.
