Emily Westergaard Hamilton '02, a Des Moines native you should get to know

I grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Grinnell College in 2002 with a degree in international development. I received a Grinnell Corps postgraduate fellowship at the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia, in southern Africa. As a fellow, I assisted scientists with data collection and research projects, helped run an international research center and taught Namibian college students about the scientific process. I moved back to Des Moines in 2003, and I've been working in nonprofit fundraising and management ever since. In 2009, I earned my master's degree in public administration from Drake University and in 2010 became the executive director of the Des Moines "I Have a Dream" Foundation.
