Henry graduated from Burlington High School, Burlington Junior College, Grinnell College and Iowa Law School with a B.A. in Law. He served in the U.S. Army as Captain in World War II. Henry practiced law for many years in the Burlington area and was a partner in Hirsch, Adams, Krekel, Putman and Cahill. He retired from law practice May 1, 1996.
Henry was a member of Kiwanis, Burlington Golf Club, Des Moines Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Temple Israel (Burlington), and Temple Shalom (Galesburg). Henry enjoyed playing golf and bridge, traveling and watching sports; in addition to his family, friends and many civic activities.
