Messin guided the Pioneers to the team title at their own invitational Saturday. She fired a 7-over-par 79 to place third in the 40-golfer field as Grinnell shot a program-record score of 326, beating the previous best by four shots.
The Pioneers' team score is best in the MWC this season and Messin's round is tied for tops in the league.
